Mountain biking around Newcastle and Lake Macquarie doesn't get any better than the Awaba Mountain Bike Park - home of the Hunter Mountain Bike Association. The club hosts regular club XC and DH rounds and social rides and is based in the Awaba Mountainbike Park in the foothills of the Watagans.
Just 20 minutes down the road from Morisset is Ourimbah State Forest where Central Coast Mountain Bike Club also holds XC and DH meets.
